Here kitty kitty.....

Serena is a bobcat at the wildlife rehab center where my daughter volunteers. She looks very cuddly, but I wouldn't dare try it!

Peek A Boo!

I haven't had much luck finding Comet Loneos. But then yesterday I read the news that little bitty Comet Holmes brightened to naked eye in one day. Tonight the sky cleared and I was able to get this shot. Comet Holmes is the blue green fuzz ball in the upper right corner of the photo. I didn't have a tripod, so I was bracing the camera wall mount style against something solid. I couldn't tell how good my aim was until I downloaded. I went back outside to try to get a more centered picture, but the clouds had rolled in that quickly. Maybe tomorrow.

Not wildfires. Not the planet Jupiter. Just one breath taking Ohio sunset.

Comet Hunting - The bright light is the star Arcturus in the constellation of Bootes. Comet Loneos is supposed to be out there, but I didn't see it. There is a fuzzy green blob above and to the right of the lone leafless tree, but I don't think it's Loneos.

All of you macro photographers out there have inspired me to give it a try. Here is my first real attempt. This is a close up of part of a blown glass hummingbird feeder.

Lucy, Goosey & Canada

A couple of days ago I posted a picture of one of these geese. Lucy & Goosey were apparently abandoned at an area park more than a year ago. Canada lost part of his wing which has since healed, but grounded him. The three seem to have bonded and spend their days together foraging for food. Other park goers noted that they wintered together last year and some folks give them bits of bread and stuff. Our local wild life rehab center gave me two big bags of shelled corn so that I can feed them every couple of days and help them through the winter. People just don't realize that when you turn out a domestic animal, it doesn't know how to survive. These two are extremely lucky to have lived this long. You can't really tell unless you are a bird person, but these geese are very thin. Perhaps the corn will help fatten them up so that they can survive another winter.
